9 April is Provenance Research Day
International Provenance Research Day will take place for the seventh time on 9 April 2025. More than 100 cultural institutions in eight countries have already confirmed their participation.
Once again this year, museums, libraries and other institutions with collections will be organising numerous in-person and online events. Currently involving more than 120 events, the wide-ranging programme focuses on topics relating to cultural property seized as a result of Nazi persecution, cultural goods from colonial contexts, and objects expropriated in the Soviet Occupation Zone/GDR, as well as the histories of items and collections in general.
The awareness day has been held on the second Wednesday in April every year since 2019.
For a summary and details of all activities relating to Provenance Research Day 2025, see the website of the Research Association for Provenance Research: https://www.arbeitskreis-provenienzforschung.org/veranstaltungen/.
Registration is open until 9 April 2025!
All institutions involved in provenance research in the broadest sense are invited to take part, as well as provenance researchers worldwide.
