Agreement on the establishment of an arbitration mechanism for Nazi-looted art

At the 22nd top-level meeting on cultural policy, the federal government, federal states and leading municipal associations signed an administrative agreement establishing an arbitration mechanism for Nazi-looted art.

At the 22nd top-level meeting on cultural policy, the federal government, federal states and leading municipal associations signed an administrative agreement establishing an arbitration mechanism for Nazi-looted art. The agreement provides the basis for transforming the existing Advisory Commission into a joint arbitration body, with close involvement of the Central Council of Jews in Germany and the Jewish Claims Conference.

The German Lost Art Foundation is supporting the arbitration body’s office on organisational matters and is formally responsible for its staffing.
