On November 26, 2018, in the context of the conference, a Joint Declaration Regarding the Implementation of the Washington Principles (PDF, 25 KB) from 1998 was signed by Commissioner for Culture and Media Monika Grütters and Ambassador Stuart Eizenstat.

Cooperative Project Körber Foundation and German Lost Art Foundation
Leading up to the specialist conference, the German Lost Art Foundation and the Körber Foundation (Körber-Stiftung) cooperated in organizing a workshop for the Körber Foundation’s “EUSTORY Next Generation Summit 2018” from November 14 to 19, 2018. Together, they offered a workshop on “Restitution of Art: Finding Just and Fair Solutions” for sixteen young Europeans from twelve countries. Two of the participants and a workshop moderator presented their project in section 4 as “Washington Principles 2018: Perspectives of Young People from Europe”.
