Call for Papers for the Conference "Provenance Research on Musical Instruments"

The aim is to bring together provenance researchers, luthiers, musicologists, collectors and testamentary heirs to share their experiences and expectations for successful research.
The importance of provenance research on musical instruments has steadily increased in recent years. However, the emergence of these new topics has been challenging.
Up to now, various institutions have analysed instruments, identified archives and collected a great deal of important information through their work. Knowledge, experiences and challenges on this topic need to be shared, presented and discussed. We encourage you to submit an abstract in which you share your experiences and conclusions with your colleagues.
The conference aims to provide the opportunity for an interdisciplinary event. It aims to highlight the different approaches and use them as a basis for support and discussion. We would like to adress are provenance researchers, luthiers, musicologists and other specialists, such as instrument dealers and archivists as well as collectors and heirs.

Acceptance will take place in late April. If accepted, the presentation and a written version of the paper must be submitted by 30 September 2024. The form of publication of the contributions has not yet been determined.
