More than 95 cultural institutions represented at the 4th International Provenance Research Day on 13 April
Details of all activities on and relating to Provenance Research Day are to be found on the website of the Arbeitskreis Provenienzforschung: https://www.arbeitskreis-provenienzforschung.org/veranstaltungen/. A brief overview of all participating institutions that registered by 5 April 2022 is available at https://www.arbeitskreis-provenienzforschung.org/tag-der-provenienzforschung/.
This year, museums, libraries and other collection-holding institutions are once again offering larger numbers of in-person events. Online formats continue to be an integral part of the programme, however. Many participants/participating institutions have developed novel event formats so as to reach the widest possible audience. This year, numerous researchers from various institutions and ventures are also organizing collaborative events.
The day can also be followed on Twitter: #TagderProvenienzforschung
Provenance Research Day takes place once a year on the second Wednesday in April. It aims to demonstrate the social and academic relevance of provenance research and provide insights into its methods to a broad audience. Founded in 2000, the Provenance Research Association is an international network of scholars and experts who conduct research into the provenance and unlawful confiscation of cultural property.
The German Lost Art Foundation is also participating. The digital event Digital Research Infrastructures in Germany and Israel will take place on 13 April 2022, from 9 a.m. to approximately 3:30 p.m. (CET).
